【終業式】
ホットドッグ 牛乳 みそラーメン

Last kyushoku of the semester. Hot dog and ramen with a nice treat in the form of a garigarikun ice cup. The hot dog was great and I think it is fun to prepare it and make it the way I like it. The flavor of the sausage on the dog is great. Today’s miso ramen was wonderful as well. The texture of the noodle was great and flavor of the broth very satisfying and hearty. I liked the bits of corn in it as well which gave a little sweetness and crunch too. The garigarikun ice was just like the real thing! Soda flavored and super sweet and nice. So nice on a hot day like today. A wonderful conclusion to school lunch on this final day of school for the students.

Second to last school lunch of the first semester. Saba in miso sauce and kimchi tonjiru. The gobo salad was great and tasted wonderful. A nice sweetness and some savory goodness from the meat bits as well. The kimchi tonjiru was tasty and had a nice spice level to it giving the tonjiru a little bit of excitement. It was nice to go back and forth between the soup and the fish. The Saba was great today as always with a nice sweetness from the Miso sauce and hearty with a great texture as well. A very nice lunch today.

Hayashi Rice! A wonderful day and I am very hungry! The salad was nice and had nice almost crunchy abura age which were like croutons. The hayashi rice was quite good and nice and beefy with great flavors from the mushrooms as well. Delicious!

NIKU JAGA! Today’s spinach and sprout salad was pretty good and had a kind of unique taste that I can’t really describe. There was sesame, but also something else. The salad is called ‘Isokaori ae’ so whatever iso is, is probably it! Good stuff. The tofu was super good. So soft and creamy that I could barely pick it up with my chopsticks and pretty much just drank it after a while. The soy sauce was a nice pairing of course and the tofu itself was very high quality I think. The nikujaga today was excellent and delicious as always. Today’s was advertised as being slightly spicy, but my old tongue couldn’t tell. It was very delicious and had a lot of flavor, but as far as spice was concerned it was very gentle. The gobo in particular was very interesting and added a kind of new element to the dish, while the potatoes and noodles were such a perfect pair soaking up that yummy juice making for a hearty and pleasant main dish. I love nikujaga.
