4月から大きく変わったことが牛乳の飲み方です。
脱プラスチックの動きを受け、牛乳パックが改良され、
プラスチックストローを使わずに飲めるようになりました。
(本校では発達段階を考慮して、1・2年生はこれまでどおり
ストローを使用し、段階的に切り替えていく予定です。)
3年生以上の児童は、はじめは戸惑った様子でしたが、
全員こぼさずに飲むことができました。

Last school lunch of the school year! I am very sad about that. Today is udon and a hot dog. A nice lunch. The hot dog is a classic lunch menu item we get once every two or three months and it comes with some nice lightly boiled cabbage which gives some sweetness and a crunch to the dog and a packet of ketchup to put on the sausage. It was good and has a light smokey flavor to it which I enjoy. I thought today’s udon was good as well and nice and hot. It had a strong flavor from the tofu and was delicious. Wonderful lunch and I look forward to eating more next year! Thanks for everything!

After a nice 3 day weekend coming back to school lunch is always a pleasure. This is the last week for school lunch before the end of the school year. The salad was a simple momiduke with a nice bright flavor from the ginger they add in with the pickles and a little bit of extra goodness from the sesame seeds making it a really pleasing and refreshing start to the meal. The shrimp ball soup is a tasty harusame soup with super yummy shrimp meat balls that are so good and add a nice dimension of flavor to the whole thing. The oroshi hamburg is a nice meaty treat and the sauce on it was pretty good. It was almost sweet compared to the soup and quite enjoyable. A nice lunch today that helps warm you up on this chilly snowy day!

Big lunch today. Katusdon! The katsu are huge and crispy and delicious. The sauce that comes with them are great as well adding a lot of classic flavor. The nameko soup was pretty good too! It was a great pair with the katsu and really nice to keep the powerful flavors of the katsu under control since it has earthy taste from the mushrooms and daikon and carrots. Also we got a nice strawberry dessert which was sweet and yummy. Today’s katsu was so huge and delicious though that nothing can really top it! Such a great lunch!

Today’s lunch is a minestrone soup, broccoli salad, and gratin. The salad was excellent and reminded me of a mix of the tuna salad and the cube salad and the flowering veggies salad. There were some bits of cheese in it and the tuna married everything together quite well. The minestrone soup was filled with lots of amazing veggies and beans and had a very gentle tomato flavor. The noodles in it were nice. The gratin was in a savory tart shell and was super good. Anything that you get for school lunch in one of these tart shells is always delicious and today is no exception! The shell itself is quite good and has a nice crunch which goes well with the yummy gratin filing which was creamy and nice. Lastly, we also got a nice roll of honey bread which was a nice snack for me after the meal to enjoy with my milk. Wonderful lunch today! It has been a while since we’ve seen anything in a tart shell.

Today is stamina don and soup. A simple meal with plenty of impact! The soup was delicious and the spring noodles in it were wonderful. I like the gentle but delicious flavor of the soup. The stamina don was amazing and packed with tons of flavor. The juices from all the meat and vegetables are very delicious. Amazing and filing lunch today. Thank you!

Classic kyushoku today. Delicious salad Italian salad with tons of great vegetables, shrimp, and some quid as well all in a delicious tangy dressing. One of the best salads you get in school lunch easily. Today’s main is wonderful and hot pork curry. Its great and something I needed today since I didn’t eat a big breakfast and the curry and rice was perfect to get the job done. Quality lunch today. Thank you.

Today is another 6th grade select kyushoku. Baked cheese and chicken, miso ramen, daikon and ham salad, MARSHAL BEANS with bread, and a jelly dessert too. The salad is great and the really good part about it is the juicy crunch and that amazing dressing. It has a lot of flavor and really excites the tongue. I used half of my bread as always to make a little chicken sandwich and it was great. Today’s chicken was great and had a nice little char on it which told me they baked it well. It wasn’t overdone or burnt, but had some extra flavor in there almost like it was cooked on a BBQ. Excellent. The ramen was pretty good too. I liked it and towards the end when I got to the bottom of the bowl I found a lot of nice spiciness so the last few drinks of the broth had a more powerful flavor. The marshal beans bread is amazing as always and the dessert was a strawberry jelly with a nice dollop of whipped cream on top. Great combo and a great lunch! The 6th graders know how to pick them! Today is back to normal kyushoku. Fish in miso sauce and tonjiru with kinpira on the side. A great menu. The kinpira was hearty and good with a nice sweet flavor. It also absorbs a little of the sauce from the fish as well since they are served on the same plate. The suiton soup was quite good as well and had a nice flavor and the glutinous suiton were chewy and nice. I like this soup. Today’s fish was amazing and the miso sauce was delicious. Great school lunch. I am still looking forward to more 6th grade select kyushoku meals though since they are so good!

Today is a special lunch menu chosen by 6th grade students! Great choice! Kimchi soup, karaage with lemon sauce, and MILMAKE! I haven’t milmake in a long time since it isn’t a regular appearance on the lunch menu and love this stuff. I thought it was a sauce, but it is a powder this time. Cool! The seaweed salad was quite good and the dressing delicious as well. I love the corn in it. The kimchi soup was tremendous as always. I love that spice and flavor with all those vegetables. Perfect with rice. Today’s fried chicken was also amazing. There are many varieties of fried chicken that come up once and a while, but I will admit the lemon is my favorite too. Great choice by class 6-3 on this lunch. That, and they also asked for ice cream and we got it! Vanilla Haagen-dazs, what a rich treat! I saved my milmake as well for the end and enjoyed it and the ice cream together. Ultra chocolate vanilla creamy goodness. I feel very accomplished for doing that haha. There are two more select kyushoku days coming up and I wonder which one will be the best! Today was truly great.

It has been about a week since we had school lunch! I am glad it’s back. Today is stew and sautéed spinach with an omelet. The spinach was pretty good and tasted fine. I like the slight smoky flavor the ham bits add to it and the sweetness of the corn too. Today’s stew is hakusai stew and it is amazing. The hakusai itself has a lightness and sweetness to it and the stew itself tastes savory and delicious. Onions and carrots bulk it up and it is a delicious and filling treat. The omelet was good and had a meaty kind of tomato filling inside which was nice. Today also sees a miraculous two desserts! Anpan and a lemon jelly. The anpan was great and perfectly prepared and had a good amount of red bean inside of it which was very enjoyable. The jelly as well had a great lemon flavor and was very refreshing after the fairly heavy meal. Wonderful lunch and great to be able to eat it again! Thank you!

Mabodofu day! Today’s harusame salad was very good. It feels like a new salad, because I think there is something different abut it. Maybe it is the cucumbers or little slices of ham or no agedofu, but it seems different. Very fresh today. The manju was pretty good and after letting it sit in my mabo dofu for a while they warmed up nicely. Lots of meat in the and plenty of onion flavor too. Today’s tofu was ultra hot which was nice, but I wasn’t ready for it so I burned my tongue a little bit. Lovely and filling meal today!

The last day of February and getting closer to the conclusion of the 3rd semester. Today we have fried fish, momiduke, and soup. The momizuke was as good as ever, with a fresh crunch and a hint of ginger I think. But today there was a fair amount of sesame seeds which was really delicious and added another layer of flavor. Today’s tonjiru is excellent and packed with flavor. The daikon radish was so juicy I loved it. The fish was amazing as well. Super crunchy and satisfying to bite and the inside was juicy and nice. The sauce pairs with it perfectly of course and it was a delicious meal. Wonderful welcome back to school today!

Today is an awesome lunch menu! Spaghetti and Italian salad with a bread roll and some mikan jam. The Italian salad is perhaps the best salad of all kyushoku salads. Maybe the cube salad is a bit better but only because it has cheese in it. It is crunchy, refreshing, and juicy with an awesome dressing and rare ingredients like red bell pepper and shrimp. The spaghetti is good as always and the meat sauce is quite tasty. The flavor is there, kind of sweet, but just savory enough to not me overpowering and there are shreds of carrot and some peas in there as well. It’s wonderful and plentiful! Lastly the mikan jam was delicious and sweet with a really nice citrus flavor. I use some of my breadroll to dip in the sauce and some for the dessert. It was an amazing lunch and a perfect sendoff for the week.

Curry and rice. After a holiday and then coming back to work, curry and rice is a great welcome back. Its chilly today, despite being sunny, and the warm and hearty curry is perfect. The salad was good as always, I particularly like the tangy dressing. The curry was hot and a little spicy and perfect. The Tochiotome yogurt was amazing and the chunks of strawberry were sweet and delicious inside of the creamy dessert. Wonderful lunch today and much needed! Thank you!

Today is 2.22.22! Wow! Today we commemorate that wonderful date with natto and oden. Today’s natto was fine. I like the mustard the best. Today’s salad was another mushy one. I usually rely on the crunchy fresh salad to counteract the natto’s sliminess, but no luck today. It was mostly seaweed and pretty good either way. The oden was pretty good today and quite enjoyable. My favorite oden is the knot of noodles, the egg, the hot dog in tofu, the tofu bag with mochi in it, and the daikon radish. Today we got a daikon so I was happy about that. A fine lunch today!

Today is hoikoro, manju, and tofu soup. The hoikoro is amazing and thankfully warm on this freezing day. It has a lot of great flavor and is wonderful with rice and there was plenty of great veggies in it as well. The nira manju was quite delicious, but today is freezing cold and very windy to the manju were cold too. It is a real shame because if it was hot it would be much much better. Still delicious. The tofu soup had a lighter flavor than the other two menu items, but was still flavorful and nice. Lastly we got a nice frozen jelly dessert which was super nice and juicy. It was mikan flavored and a nice refreshing finish to the meal. Great lunch today! I am still so cold though.

Today we have an interest menu with udon, meatballs, and honey bread. Today’s salad is the jako salad which is crunchy and has some sweetness from the cabbage and some good flavor from the dressing and some overall fishy flavor from the jakko. The meatballs were excellent with the bread and I made a little sandwich. The sweetness of the meatball sauce went great with the honey in the bread and it was delicious. The udon was pretty good too and nice and hot. I like the tofu bits in it since its super juicy and has a nice sweetness to it as well. Overall today was a great menu and was a super nice conclusion to the week. Excellent week for kyushoku.

Today is another great looking lunch! Karaage with Nira and won ton soup. The daikon and cucumber salad was pretty good and had a nice fresh taste and an enjoyable crunch. The karaage was tremendous. This is a new flavor and we usually get the lemon or Korean variation, but the nira is an excellent pairing. Fried perfectly with a nice crunch and delicious juicy chicken, the nira and sauce that it was cooked in brings a really like onion, garlic flavor which tastes more like karaage you get at a restaurant. It is really good and great with rice. Even the wonton soup today feels powered up. It has a nice flavorful broth and lots of delicious wontons and veggies inside which give it a lot more punch and texture. Such a great lunch today, I love these karaage and the wonton and rice are wonderful alongside them.

Variety lunch today with a fantastic pumpkin stew. The broccoli salad with corn and cucumber has a very sweet and creamy dressing. Maybe a little too sweet since the corn itself is actually fairly sweet, but it was delicious and I got a lot of broccoli which was nice. The omelet was packed with flavor and quite tasty. The tomato and meat in it were quite nice. Today’s pumpkin stew was delicious and packed with vegetables and also very very yellow! The stew did not fail expectations and was very good as always. Lastly, the chocolaty cherry on top is the choco pate. I always think it is going to be mil-make, but its just straight chocolate sauce fortified with iron. Its great and I enjoy it with my bread. Lovely lunch today. This week has been full of winners so far! Looking forward to tomorrow and Friday’s lunch as well.

Bibinba! Today’s lunch has a yummy salad filled with lots of great juicy spinach and crunchy bean sprouts. My favorite part of the meal is the delicious meat and veggie mix because it has such a great flavor. The meat has a nice spiciness to it and plenty of garlic and soy sauce as well which gives it almost a smokey taste. Also the soup has a nice light flavor and those great spring noodles. It is one of the best-balanced lunches flavor-wise I think and super tasty. Not to mention we get a great dessert too! The fuity anindoufu was excellent with a perfect blend of creamy and sweet flavors and the more citrusy tart flavors from the fruit. Perfect finish to the meal and a totally yummy lunch.

Happy valentine’s day! Soup, gobo salad, and fish today. The gobo salad was crunchy, sweet, and a little chewy from the aburaage. It’s a nice starter for the meal. Today’s soup is suiton soup. It has little dough balls in it which are pretty nice and the broth is savory and buttery with lots of nice vegetables. It is like a chicken soup almost. The fish today was also quite good and cooked up in a nice miso sauce. It was meaty and didn’t have a strong fishy taste and was overall very enjoyable with the rice. Great lunch today!

Today is a kind of interesting menu. Shimotsu curry, ham katsu, and sekihan! Lots of good stuff today. Kyushoku shimotsu curry is actually pretty tame and is quite good. I love sekihan and it was super good. The sesame seed salt is so delicious and it is very filling. The ham katsu was also super crunchy and perfectly fried. It tasted wonderful and was great. We also got a nice seaweed soup with tofu and Naruto in it. It was good. Lastly was today’s dessert, the tochioteme jelly. It was absolutely fantastic and had cream on the bottom too. Great lunch today!

Today is a great lunch! Hamburg steak and spinach sautee with veggies soup on the side. The spinache was excellent and had a touch of butter which really made it extra yummy. I used some of my bread to make a sandwich with the hamburg and it was amazing. The gravy with mushrooms was really good. Todays soup had a light flavor from all the vegetables and was good. I liked all the cabbage, Last I used some of my bread to eat a little jam sandwich and it was a quite lovely finish to the meal. I was quite full and happy today and I needed it! Thank you!

Today’s lunch is a mix of fish, hijiki, and kimchi soup. I don’t really like today’s fish very much so I usually try to eat it quickly. It has a kind of fatty oily taste to me. Today’s real VIP is the kimchi soup. Hot and delicious and filled with plenty of vegetables and kimchi flavor. Nice lunch today!

Back for another week of yummy lunches. This week kicks off with the delicious happosai. Today’s salad was great and had a nice dressing which went well with the ham. It was juicy too. The happosai has a very strong mix of flavors and the squid always stands out to me, but it is filled with many yummy veggies and meats. It’s great with rice too. The shumai were yummy as well and had a nice meaty and oniony flavor. A lovely lunch today and one that filled me up quite nicely.

Friday! Yay! Today we have a manchi katsu, potof, tuna salad, and a pair of strawberries! The tuna salad was excellent as always with a nice crunchy bite and a delicious bright dressing mixed with the yummy tuna. I made a menchi katsu sandwich and it was amazing. The katsu today was super duper crunchy and the insides were hot, meaty, and had a nice onion flavor. The potof was tasty and had a nice light flavor which complimented the bread and katsu. Today’s strawberries were super sweet and delicious. Some of the best I have had in a while! And in school lunch too! Yummy!

Today is Setsubun, or ‘Throwing Beans Day’. A traditional change in the season from the winter months headed into spring where we throw beans and banish demons from our homes and lives! Today’s salad was packed with flavor from the bonito and it was smokey and juicy. A kind of odd combination, but delicious. The daikon stew was pretty good! The earthy and slightly bitter daikon flavor was calmed down by the flavors and other veggies and was quite delicious. Today’s real MVP was the fish though. It was perfectly cooked and super flavorful. The ginger flavor was excellent and went perfectly with rice. This is one of the best fish we get in school lunch and it was great today. Last, as a final snack, the lucky bean assortment. It is a little snack pack with kakipeas, lucky beans, and crunchy little fish and such with a little bit of a sweet coating. It was alright. A nice conclusion to the meal. Out with the demons and in with the luck!

Yaki soba and ham daikon salad. Great menu today. The ham and daikon salad is great as always and has such a delicious mix of crunchy, sweet, sour, and umami flavors. It’s so good and wakes my mouth up for the yaki soba party that is coming. The yaki soba today was quite good and had a good amount of flavor from the sauce. I got a lot of meat in mine today so I feel lucky. The kokuto bread was sweet and delicious too. I mostly enjoyed it at the end of the meal with my milk. A lovely meal that filled me up!

Yeah! Sanshokudon! And some yummy soup with salmon balls too. The sanshokudon is absolutely delicious. The egg/chicken mix is tasty and the greens are tasty and flavorful with a nice juicy sesame flavor. I just mix it up with the rice and go crazy, I love this. The soup was simple and delicious with vegetables and those amazing salmon balls. The salmon gives the soup a different level of depth and the meat is great as well. After the exciting world school lunch week, it is nice to go back to the classics to remember how good they are.

January is already at an end. Only about 2 months left of the school year! Only two more months of school lunch. Today we have a wonderful ajifry as well as hijiki. A tasty classic and it does not disappoint. The hijiki is good and the aburaage is juicy and filled with flavor. That and the nice chunks of meat added in alongside the beans makes it a pretty good salad. We also got a soup as well, kenchin soup. It has a very light flavor and is filled with lots of veggies and tofu. It is the cool down menu item after having bites of the powerful ajifry. The ajifry was super crunchy, fried perfectly, and had a nice fairly gentle fishy flavor and on the inside a soft texture.

The last day of world lunch week. Today is Germany. We get a hot dog with sauerkraut-style cabbage and a potato stew. I tried the sauerkraut first since I had a talk about it with the nutritionist. It was very good and reminded me of the momizuke. The hotdog itself was delicious and great with a little ketchup and mustard along with the kraut. The real superstar of the menu today though is this potato soup. Seriously all kyushoku stew is delicious and I will stand by that claim, but today was a masterpiece. The depth of flavor is wonderful and the vegetables and ingredients were prefect. An amazing lunch and a perfect meal to conclude the week! Thank you!

I just realized today that this week is ‘World Menu Week’ for school lunches. That makes sense. Today’s lunch is an homage to what school lunch was like when Japan first began the school lunch program. A simple meal of momizuke, grilled fish, and miso soup with flavored seaweed on the side. The momizuke was delicious, crunchy, and fresh! The soup was quite flavorful and tasty. The aburaage was juicy and salty. The nori was a nice addition to the rice as well adding some sweetness. I also really enjoyed the salmon as well. It went great with the rice and was quite tasty. Wonderful meal today. Thank you!

Another new menu today! Daal (beans) curry and naan bread with a cauliflower salad. The salad was excellent. Reminding me of the flowering veggie salad, but this has cheese and some tunafish in it as well. Very good. The curry was great as well. When Indian style curry comes up in kyushoku it has a different base flavor and is a nice change of pace. The spiciness was decent and it had plenty of beans as well which were quite enjoyable. I thought the naan was ok. An excellent lunch and both the salad and curry were awesome! A meal I would love to eat again!

Another rare and interesting menu item today! Ruurohann. An interesting dish of ground meat and stewed vegetables. Today’s daikon soup was quite good and had a fair amount of flavor and delicious texture from the abura age as well. The ruuroohan was amazing and the meat and bamboo shoots were delicious and had a sweetness, but also another flavor I couldn’t catch, but reminded me of fish like squid. Super delicious and extremely easy to eat and great with rice as well. I wanted to keep eating and before I knew it I had finished it all! I really hope that we can get a chance to eat it again soon. Lastly, today’s dessert was milk pudding, which was sweet and tasty. Really a nice and creamy dessert to finish the meal. I am very full and very happy! Thank you!

Interesting and new menu item today! The Locomoko! This is a famous dish in Hawaii. It is a fried egg on a hamburg steak on some rice. Seeing it in school lunch is quite exciting! I tried the soup first and it is a simple cabbage and carrot soup with a few little bits of pork sprinkled in to add a bit of flavor to the broth. Not bad. The lokomoko sauce was actually pretty good too. I tasted a mix of ketchup and katsu sauce. The lokomoko itself was actually really good. I wanted a bit more sauce, and of course it would be way better if it was hot, but it was good! The hamburg was pretty meaty and big and the egg was cooked in a perfect circle. How do they do that? Today’s lunch was new, and interesting, and unique. I am happy to try a different menu and was really surprised today which was exciting and fun. I look forward to more new menu items! Thank you! I would say the lokomoko was a success today.

Its snowing today! Its lovely outside, but very cold too. Today’s lunch is spaghetti and cole slaw with bread and chocolate pate on the side. The cole slaw was crunchy and sweet from the mayo. The spaghetti was hot and delicious, and had a sweet flavor as well, but I tasted a little smokiness too maybe. Tough to say, but it is still very good. The pate was tremendous and super chocolately and delicious. Perfect with milk and the bread, I made a little chocolate bread kind of snack and enjoyed it at the end of my meal. Very tasty and a lovely end of the week. Thank you!

Today’s menu is a delicious pork and veggie stir fry with shrimp ball soup on the side. The stir fry was excellent, flavorful from the ginger, and filling. Great with rice. The soup itself had a very light flavor, but a nice texture from the spring noodles. The shrimp balls were amazing and each bite was an explosion of shrimpy goodness. Nice lunch today.

Today’s menu is the ‘Goes great with rice’ menu day. Fish, kinpira, and tonjiru. A classic Japanese menu. The kinpira is crunchy and sweet. It also has a little bit of an interesting smokey and earthy flavor as well from the sauce and gobo I think which was nice. The tonjiru is hot and delicious and filled with plenty of veggies and tofu alongside the pork. Last was today’s main dish, the iwashi okakani, or Japanese Pilchard stewed in Bonito Sauce. It is amazing and has a great flavor that is perfect with rice. I felt like I could eat so much rice today thanks to the delicious dishes.

Mabo dofu day. Today is mabo day with delicious gyoza and a yummy salad. The salad was a crunchy and delicious ham and sesame flavored mix of sprouts and greens which was a tasty and refreshing start to the meal. Today’s fried gyoza were awesome and nice and crunchy. The reminded me almost like crunchy fried eggrolls. The flavor was delicious. Today’s mabo was nice and hot and filled with lots of vegetables chopping very finely to mix well with the mincemeat and allow the texture of the tofu to stand out. Overall a nice lunch and the agegyoza were outstanding!

The first full week back to school after the winter vacation and today’s lunch is komatsuna salad with tamagoyaki and chikuzenni, a dish of boiled veggies and konyaku. Very Japanese, but very yummy. The salad is a crunchy and mushy mixture with very strong bonito flavor. The smokiness of the bonito and nice touch from the sesame seeds is a refreshing start to the meal. The egg is sweet almost sweet enough to be considered a dessert, and is a nice contrast to the salty and savory flavors from the salad and the stew. The chikuzenni is a hearty collection of root vegetables stewed in a nice sauce, which has some sweetness to it, but takes up those earthy flavors, which help to chew through the vegetables. The bamboo shoots and daikon radish are my favorite. This is a dish that I always forget that I like because without flashes of color from the carrots or green beans it’s mostly brown and beige. But despite that, each time I take my first bite I remember how delicious it is. It is a lovely meal and a solid start to what will be a great week of kyushoku.

Minestrone, flower veggie salad, and baked chicken! Excellent end to the week today. The salad was juicy, delicious, and had such wonderful flavors. An absolute treat and one of the best kyushoku salads. The soup was great today as well. Nice tomato flavor, but also plenty of seasoning as well giving it a bit more kick than usual. I think I even tasted a little garlic which is fantastic. The baked chicken was amazing and cooked perfectly. I made a sandwich with the sweet honey bread and it was a nice enough match. Hearty and filling alongside the soup. Wonderful meal!

Natto and Nikujaga! A day of great highs and great lows for me. The natto wasn’t too bad today, but I think that the salad on natto day is different than usual. I recall that eating the salad cleaned out my mouth quickly, but today’s salad was more spinach based and didn’t have a strong dressing. It did have a bit of bonito flavor though which was nice. Today’s nikujaga was delicious as always. I feel like I got a lot of potatoes today. The stew broth that it comes in is sweet and delicious and the flavor of the onions really makes it so good. Nice meal today!

Happy New Year! It’s the year of the tiger and today is the first day at school with school lunch and the start of the 3rd semester. Hayashi rice and seaweed salad with a mikan jelly dessert. Can’t ask for a more solid start than that! The salad was slippery and crunchy, with a nice tangy and slightly sweet flavor from the dressing and natural seaweed flavor. The hayashi rice was very tasty! The tomato flavor was nice and the vegetables were hot and delicious. In particular the mushrooms and green peas were delicious and added nice texture. The mikan jelly was a nice little treat afterwards and refreshed my mouth quite nicely. Lovely meal and now I am full and ready for the rest of the day, no, the rest of the semester! Christmas eve and the day of the closing ceremony for the second semester. A SUPER Christmas themed lunch today. Hamburg shaped like Christmas Trees, star cheese in the salad and star noodles in the soup as well as cute snowman Naruto too. The salad is one of the most delicious ones and the little cheese stars add such a great level of depth to it. The colorful greens whites and reds also give it a real nice holiday vibe. The soup is delicious and so cute. I used the bread roll and made it into buns so I could eat a hamburg tree sandwich.. It was delicious. There was also a super tasty dessert. It was a delicious and creamy and sweet strawberry jelly and pudding with some whipped cream on top. A super duper festive and delicious lunch to kick off the winter vacation for the students!

Nice menu today! It is an interesting and delicious blend on Asian recipies. The salad was tasty and the katsuo boshi was excellent. The kimchi soup was absolutely delicious with a yummy spice level and lots of hearty vegetables. The nira manju as well was super good and the strong nira flavor was delicious. It was meatier than I expected and a true treat. Wonderful lunch today!

Yes! Today is a delicious pumpkin stew. The tuna salad was delicious and surprisingly hearty. I like this salad a lot. The omelet was tasty as well. I liked the potatoes and onions. Today’s main event is the wonderful pumpkin stew and it was magnificent. The pumpkin flavor was so strong and the color along could tell you how much pumpkin was used in it. It I delicious and I missed having yummy stew with lunch. Wonderful meal today!

Today is an all Japanese lunch. The momiduke was nice and crunchy with a light sesame flavor. The zakuzakuni was quite delicious and everything was cut into small chunks or cubes. I like when my food comes in cubes. This soup reminded me of oden. The fish, iwashi, was amazing. This is one of my favorite fish that comes in school lunch and I love the sesame and miso sauce that comes with it. So wonderful.

Sukiyaki and Natto day. I eat my natto quickly and then proceed to the salad! The salad was fresh, crunchy, and tasted sweet as well from the sesame. It was a great palate cleanser after the natto and my mouth wasn’t sticky at all. The sukiyaki today was amazing. So many noodles and that sweet and savory broth is so delicious. The tofu is slightly cooked and has a nice texture and the carrots and cabbage were great as well. The meat was filling and tasty. Truly a rollercoaster of emotion with today’s lunch, but it is ultimately a delicious one despite the natto.

Dosanko soup, fish, and hijiki today. A Japanese meal. The hijiki was good and a little sweet. I enjoyed it. The saba with miso was alright. I don’t really like this fish and sauce combination very much. Today’s main dish for me was the dosanko soup and it was amazing. The buttery flavor of the broth and the delicious vegetables and pork make it super hearty and enjoyable. I like it very much. Nice lunch today! Thank you!

Curry and rice day! The seaweed salad that comes on most curry days is the same as usual. I don’t really like the texture very much, but it tastes quite good. The curry was excellent. Good spice level today and I was surprised by how big the potatoes were. Maybe they cut them larger or added them to the stew later because they were really big and still had fairly sharp edges! It was great. And a wonderful juicy sweet mikan to conclude the meal. Perfect lunch as the weather starts to get really cold.

Karaage and sweet potato soup day! A real nice lunch. The salad was a simple cabbage affair with a nice sharp dressing with salty kobu which is really tasty. The soup is hot and warm, tasting great, and the sweet potatoes add such a nice flavor and smooth texture to it. Today’s chicken doesn’t have a special flavor like it has recently, but is just classic Japanese karaage. It tastes great! I enjoy having it with my rice and it was a great meal overall. Spaghetti and bean salad today with a nice mikan jelly and honey bread. A nice menu that looks great. The bean salad is amazing and so colorful and delicious. It is crunchy and has lots of nice textures as well and with the dressing it has a nice unified flavor in addition to all the varied tastes from reach bean and the broccoli. Today’s meat pasta is amazing and today’s is some of the best I have had from school lunch in a while. The flavors are there and there is a bit more complexity besides a simple tomato and meat sauce. The peas add a nice little extra bit of texture and I think there must be some kind of cheese or other flavor in there which takes it above and beyond. Absolutely wonderful today.

Sanshokudon! One of the tightest and most delicious meals around. If all kyushoku menus would battle against eachother in a tournament, I believe that sanshokudon deserves to be in the top 10 for sure, if not the top 5. Today’s soup, sawaniwan has a unique and delicious flavor. Gobo and daikon give it a nice earthy base flavor and the carrots and daikon being cut so thinly and in strips give it an interesting texture as well. The sanshokudon is delicious as ever with wonderful spinach with sesame, and the delicious chicken and egg mixture. Delicious!

Today is a nice menu with meatballs, salad, and soup with bread on the side. The flowing veggie salad was excellent and it is one of the best for both its perfect ability to soak up the dressing and still be crunchy, and the fact that the dressing is so good too. I really like this salad. I love to use the bread to make a meatball sandwich with the Swedish style meatballs. The potof is quite good and filled with tons of veggies and the little sausage slices are wonderful as well. A simple but enjoyable light flavor is nice and calms down the pallet after the bright dressing from the salad or the stronger flavors from the meatballs. The meatball sandwich itself was delicious and the meatballs are done very well. Such a good flavor. Amazing meal today!

Ajify today with nameko soup. I started out with the stewed kiriboshi daikon which was pretty good. I don’t like the texture that much, but it is delicious and has an interesting flavor which is sweet and has a kind of earthy saltiness as well. The soup as well has good flavor, but a texture I don’t care for that much. It was nice after eating some ajifry to kind of calm down the strong sharp flavor of the sauce. The ajifry was excellent and crunchy. Very enjoyable! A nice lunch today.

Cold day today! Perfect timing for some nice hot STAMINA DON! Kyushoku staminadon is super delicious and packed with tons of pork, onions, carrots, and other veggies. It has such a delicious flavor and is juicy and hot. One of the most solid lunch choices you can ask for. Also, we got a lovely shrimp ball soup as well. I really enjoy the light flavor compared to the powerful flavors of the stamina don. The noodles in the soup are extremely enjoyable and the shrimp balls taste delicious and nice. Perfect meal for a cold dreary day!

An interesting lunch today! Today we get the ham and daikon salad which is one of the best. The hame, daikon, cucumber, and dressing go so well together. A crunchy masterpiece really and it is such a simple dish too. Besides the salad we have pork and beans today as well. It’s a hearty soup packed with lots of vegetables and has a nice tomato base. It’s really good. Also today is another fantastic treat – agepan with a cocoa sugar topping. It is basically a donut which nobody will ever complain about. The cocoa flavor was very clear to me and quite enjoyable. I save almost all my milk to eat with the agepan making for a yummy dessert to this nice meal.
